Statutory Tasks

Governing Body

  • Appoint officers to the governing body for the forthcoming academic year.
  • Review committee structures with regard to the strategic role of governance and subsequently review terms of reference.

Budget Plan

  • Agree draft budget plan for 2012/2013 by 30 November 2011.

Performance Management

  • Governors to ensure performance management meetings have taken place with the headteacher by
31 December 2011.



Recommended Actions

Categorisation
  • Governors to ascertain their school’s category under the new system and to receive the termly SIA Note of Visit. (Surrey Governors only)

Early Years

  • Governors to be aware of changes to the Statutory Framework for Early Years.

Clerking Accreditation

  • Chairs of Governors to consider a development opportunity for their clerk.
